Hunter/Jumper Horse Show

THURMONT RIDING CLUB

 

HUNTER / JUMPER SHOW

 

DATES: May 14 AND October 1

 

TIME: 8:30am

 

ENTRY FEES:$6.00/class/member

                        $8.00/class/non-member

 

Pony Height - 14.2 and under

Horse Height - 14.3 and over

 

Nominations for Division Champion and Reserve Champion - $5.00 per horse

Schooling / Grounds Fee - $5.00 per horse

 

 

LEADLINE:

Ages 6 and under. May not enter into any other division. Judged 50% on suitability of mount, 50% on rider. May be asked to drop/pick up stirrups.

1) Leadline Walk

2) Offline Walk

 

SHORT STIRRUP EQUITATION:

Open to riders 10 and under. Judged on position, hands, seat, legs, control, manners, and suitability of mount. May cross enter into Pleasure and Novice Equitation only.

3) Walk, Trot

 

YOUTH EQUITATION "A":

Open to riders 13 and under. Judged same as Short Stirrup.

4) Walk, Trot, Canter

 

YOUTH EQUITATION "B":

Open to riders 14 - 18. Judged same as Short Stirrup.

5) Walk, Trot, Canter

6) Over 6 fences at approximately 2'

 

HUNTER HACK:

Open to riders of any age in divisions of horses and ponies. Judged on performance, manners, and suitability as a hunter with flat work and 2 fences.

7) Hunter Hack Ponies

8) Hunter Hack Horses

 

GREEN HUNTER:

Horses in 1st or 2nd year of showing. Judged on performance, manners, soundness, and suitability as a hunter.

9) Under Saddle

10) Over fences - 6 fences just under 2'

11) Over fences - 6 fences just over 2'

 

NOVICE EQUITATION:

Open to riders who have not won 3 blue ribbons in an equitation class. Judged same as Short Stirrup.

12) Walk, Trot, Individual Canter

13) Over fences - 4 fences at approximately 2'

 

LUNCH BREAK - SCHOOLING - 30 MINUTES

OPEN PLEASURE: Open to riders of any age on horses or ponies. No martingales.

14) Walk, Trot, Canter

15) Over fences - 4 at approximately 2'3"

16) Over fences - 4 at approximately 3'

 

LOW HUNTER:

Open to all. Judged same as Green Hunter. Trotting fences will not be penalized.

17) Under Saddle

18) Over fences - 6 fences at approximately 2'3"

 

OPEN EQUITATION:

Open to riders of any age on horses or ponies. Judged on rider’s position, hands, seat, leg, guidance, and control.

19) Walk, Trot, Canter

20) Over fences - 6 fences at approximately 2'6" horse 2' pony

 

WORKING HUNTER:

Open to all. Judged on performance, manners, soundness, and suitability as a hunter.

21) Under Saddle

22) Over fences - 6 fences at approximately 2'6" horse 2' pony

23) Over fences - 8 fences at approximately 3' horse 2'6" pony

 

**Coursewalk for Timed Jumper Divisions.

15 Minute Schooling. **

 

PONY JUMPER:

 

Open to all riders on ponies.

24) Over fences - 6 fences at approximately 2'6"

 

HORSE JUMPER:

Open to all riders on horses.

25) Over fences - 6 fences at approximately 3'

 

 

No refund of entry fees. Please leave blank check, or pay as you ride. Judges decision is final. Show officials reserve the right to combine, cancel, or divide any classes in the best interest of the show. Riders age determined as of January 1, 2011. Proper attire to be worn while showing. Approved hard hats with harnesses to be worn while mounted. Copy of current negative Coggins test required. Adults may ride ponies, except where specified. Ribbons awarded to sixth place.

 

Awards for Champion and Reserve Champion in each division.

Points are awarded as follows: 1st-6 pts., 2nd -5 pts.,

3rd -4 pts., 4th -3 pts., 5th -2 pts., 6th -1 pt.

Points over fences will break ties.

Division are as follows: A - 10 and Under, B - 11-13,

C - 14-18, and D - 19 and Older.

 

 

Thurmont Riding Club will not be held responsible for loss or injury incurred while at this show or on the show grounds. Show officials reserve the right to expel any person(s) from the grounds for cruelty to animals, unsportsmanlike conduct, and/or the use of drugs or alcohol. Thurmont Riding Club well water has not been tested, use at your own risk.
